ABOUT

Dr Priya Deshpande is an obstetrician and gynaecologist and has specialised in Fetal Medicine. She has done her Fellowship in Fetal Medicine from Bangalore Fetal Medicine Center  under renowned Dr Prathima Radhakrishnan. She has 8 years of clinical experience post fellowship. She is currently practising Fetal Medicine Specialist in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai. Apart from the fetal ultrasound scans she has proficiency in the diagnostic and therapeutic fetal interventions. She has further done certified courses in Fetal neurology from Israel and FETAL echocardiography from  university of Barcelona, Spain.
She is a teaching faculty at Fetal and Gynaec imaging (FGI)course. She is treasurer of association of fetal medicine consultants Maharashtra. She is west zone coordinator of FOGSI imaging science committee and Executive committee member of society of fetal medicine (SFM) Mumbai Chapter. In addition she is west zone coordinator of FMFI - Fetal Medicine Foundation India. She has won Madakini Parihar award for best clinical case presentation 2020.   Apart from clinical experience she has special interest in academics and teaching.

She is a member of Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) UK, International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), Society of Fetal Medicine (SFM), Navi Mumbai OBG society (NMOGS) and Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).

She can effectively communicate in Marathi, Hindi, English and Kanada.

Fetal Medicine primarily deals in providing care to unborn babies. It involves diagnosis and treatment of complications which may arise in unborn babies.

She specialized in ultrasound examination of the fetus  –

• First trimester screening for chromosomal abnormalities(NT scan ) (11-13+6 weeks)

• Early anomaly scan (16-18 weeks)

• Anomaly scan (18-22 weeks )

• Advanced fetal echocardiography

• Fetal growth scans and Doppler study

 

And Interventions –

• Amniocentesis

• Chorion villous biopsy

• Fetal reductions (multiple pregnancies)

• Fetal blood transfusions
